BYOBC: Bring Your Own Beverages and Creativity, a reading and writing workshop
Taught by Kajal Thakker
Grab yourself a coffee, tea, or any beverage, and join our zoom! (There will be a list of recipes for fun drinks in the class Google drive if you’re stumped!)
In this 8-session workshop, we will spend the first 3 sessions exploring the use of accents and dialects in English literature. The next 5 sessions will focus on writing and workshopping various short stories based on writing prompts given in class. Though this class focuses on the way accents/dialects are woven into English based fiction and nonfiction in the first 3 sessions, students of all backgrounds and experiences are welcome and encouraged to join. Students are not required to utilize accents and dialects for the writing portion of this workshop, though you may use them as necessary for your stories. This workshop aims to educate students of all demographics!
