Engineering is often described as a “people serving profession”. The NSPE’s Code of Ethics for Engineers states that engineers shall “hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare of the public” as a fundamental responsibility of engineers. Unfortunately, accidents occur in many engineering projects every year. This course is designed to understand and discuss the nature of accidents using two case studies.
